I have over 10 years of classroom teaching experience and I specialize in AP US History, US History, AP European History, AP Government and Politics, World History, and Sociology. I hold an Illinois Professional Educator License with certifications to teach middle & high school history. I graduated from Loyola University Chicago, with a B.A. in History and B.S. in Secondary Education, and I have taught in public and private schools. I also enjoy teaching & tutoring argumentative writing, and historical research writing. I love traveling, and usually plan vacations around historical markers and sites. I bring history alive in our conversations, by bringing these, and your own, experiences into our discussions. I have a proven excellent teaching record, a passion for all history, and empathy for students.
My goal as your tutor will be to foster ownership of your own learning by building on your experiences to make learning meaningful. I have excellent resources to help you conquer the AP US History or AP European History exam and can help you work on your DBQ, LEQ and SAQ writing. I will work with you to hone the skills that you need the most support with, and polish the ones you already are excelling in.
